Today I'm having some one on one time with the tech person at the office to teach me some tricks.<br /> Computers were supposed to make our lives easier and free up more time to spend with people and enjoying ourselves. Instead we get bogged down in the trials of getting everything on the computer to work correctly. I don't know about everyone else, but once I have a problem that needs outside help to fix, my day is shot! It's like my life just entered one of those big black holes in space and I'm sucked into a time continuem (sp?). Here are 10 reasons why I haven't written anything for about a month:<br /><br />Reason #1: I forgot the address and name of my blog and couldn't find it.<br /><br />Reason #2: I was busy taking out clients<br /><br />Reason # 3: I was getting all my tax papers together (not done yet)<br /><br />Reason # 4: Too busy watching Judge Judy<br /><br />Reason # 5: I was playing too much Scrabble online<br /><br />Reason # 6: I had a deadline to read a book for my bookclub<br /><br />Reason # 7: I was answering emails and phone calls<br /><br />Reason # 8: I had writer's block<br /><br />Reason # 9: I was TWEETING<br /><br />Reason # 10: (drum roll please...) This week I received two offers on homes that are bank owned foreclosures (different homes, thank goodness) and the people who made the offers are friends of each other. Each bank required different papers to be submitted with the offer. One bank insisted on having the bank statements of the buyers (to prove they could afford the down payment), a preapproval letter (of course), and an offer form filled out (of their design). This particular bank also wanted the potential buyer to pay all of the following expenses (besides paying for the home itself)....<br /><br /><strong><span style="font-family:arial;">*transfer taxes </span></strong><br /><strong><span style="font-family:arial;">*survey </span></strong><br /><strong><span style="font-family:arial;">*title fees </span></strong><br /><strong><span style="font-family:arial;">*cost to turn the utilities on and off for an inspection</span></strong><br /><br />The second bank, which was selling the other home wanted just a preapproval and the offer.<br /><br />Since both potential buyers were friends, one asked me why I was asking her for "all this stuff" when I wasn't asking her friend for ANYTHING.<br /><br />One would think that the process would be standardized.... Someone whispered in my ear that it would be good for my business as a realtor to get my name out there for people to see. Maybe give some tips on the best way to sell your home or what not to do when buying a home.... stuff like that. I was thinking that later on I might tell stories about the people I've worked with.. with the names changed to protect the innocent, of course. <br /> So, stay tuned. That's what I plan for the future.
